Just as Steven Spielberg invented the modern summer blockbuster with 'Jaws' in 1975, so he reinvented it nearly 20 years later with the ground-breaking 'Jurassic Park'. This awe-inspiring spectacle demonstrated that digital effects technology had advanced so far that film-makers were now constrained only by their imaginations. Without it, we would never have had 'Titanic' or 'The Lord of the Rings'.

But 'Jurassic Park' was also a great feat of storytelling. Adapted from Michael Crichton's novel, this is the thrilling tale of cloned dinosaurs running amok in an island theme park constructed by eccentric billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough). As the scientists attempt to regain order, Hammond's own grandchildren are among those fleeing for their lives.

From the moment the first stunning CGI brachiosaurus appeared, audiences were transfixed. By the time the vicious velociraptors got loose, they were hiding behind their seats!
