Back in 2007, the original, low-budget 'Paranormal Activity' became one of the most profitable movies ever made. Audiences around the world ducked behind their seats at the sight of home video-style footage showing what happened to suburban couple Katie and Micah when they decided to record supernatural activity in their San Diego home.

Something of a prequel, last year's 'Paranormal Activity 2' followed Katie's sister Kristi as she and her husband set up CCTV cameras to watch over their newborn baby after an apparent burglary. Now the story continues with a film that delves further into the past. Back in 1988, we find out how the demon that plagued both sisters came to be unleashed when they were children.

Incoming co-directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman were responsible for the controversial documentary 'Catfish' and bring fresh blood to this scariest of spookfests!
