Chasing Pavements earned Adele three Grammy Award nominations, one of which she won.
Adele unfortunately lost out on Song of the Year and Record of the Year to Coldplay's 'Viva la Vida' and Robert Plant & Alison Krauss' 'Please Read the Letter' respectively.
However, winning a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance whilst up against the likes of Leona Lewis and P!nk was a fantastic achievement.
The song itself was inspired by an incident with an ex-boyfriend of Adele's, where after leaving his company after a fight and walking home alone she thought of the term 'chasing pavements'. She reportedly sang it into her phone and arranged a chord sequence when she got home.
