New Titanic Theory Proves There WAS Room For Jack On That Door!

The debate rages on!
It's been TWENTY years since the release of Titanic and the tragic love story between Rose DeWitt Bukater and Jack Dawson broke hearts around the world.
With it came one of life's greatest debates; COULD Rose have scooted up a bit and made room for Jack on the door floating in the North Atlantic Ocean?
Yes, some people say, she could - it was a door made for two!
No, others will protest, she couldn't - it would have sunk under the weight of both of them.
This debate is SO poignant that even Kate Winslet herself has addressed it, when she was a guest on The Jimmy Fallon Show last year. Her admission that, yeah, there probably was room caused quite a stir amongst fans - and Titanic director James Cameron.
Cameron stands by the fact that Jack did the best he could to survive, believing that hyperthermia was already setting in and it would have taken too much valuable energy to make the door suitable for dos personas.

However, a scientist by the name of Neil DeGrasse has taken this door debacle and looked at it from a different perspective. In an interview with HuffPost, he said: "Whether or not he [Jack] could've been successful, I would've tried more than once. You try once. ‘Oh, this is not gonna work. I will just freeze to death in the water.’ No, excuse me. No!”
He added: “The survival instinct is way stronger than that in everybody, especially in that character. He’s a survivor, right? He gets through. He gets by.”
To be fair, it does make sense. Jack was definitely a handy kind of person to have around in the event of a sinking ship - he kept himself and Rose out of the water for as long as he could with some seriously rational thinking.
Kate Winslet also shocked fans recently by revealing that she has NEVER fancied Leo during the filming of Titanic. Not even when filming THAT steamy car scene.
Speaking as a guest on Lorraine, Winslet said: "We were both really very young, and luckily - this is the fortunate thing - we never fancied each other. I know that's really annoying to hear, I'm sorry, but we really never did."
You're breaking our hearts Kate! But we do love the fact that she and Leo have stayed the closest of friends for twenty years. Those guys!
Take our poll - do YOU think that there was room for two?!
