Oscars 2015 Winners List! Eddie Redmayne Takes Home 'Best Actor'

It was a tough battle but Eddie Redmayne came out on top with a gong for Best Actor at the 87th Academy Awards after going head to head with Benedict Cumberbatch, Steve Carrell, Bradley Cooper and Michael Keaton.

Redmayne, 33, scooped up the coveted award for his critically acclaimed portrayal of Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything'.

Meanwhile, Julianne Moore gave an emotional speech after beating Redmayne's co-star Felicity Jones to the win the prize for Best Actress following her powerful portrayal of an Alzheimer’s sufferer in 'Still Alice.' The win would have been even more special for the red-headed beauty after missing out on the accolade four times before.

'Birdman' was the overall big winner of the night taking home the award for Best Picture and three other awards for cinematography, Best Original Screenplay and Best Director.
