Ewan McGregor backs famine appeal

Ewan McGregor's backing an appeal in aid of starving children in east Africa.

The actor's appearing in a short film asking viewers to donate to the Time To Share campaign.

The campaign's designed to encourage us to share a little of what we have, to help save the lives of half a million children about to starve to death in famine-hit Somalia.

Nearly £50 million pounds has been raised in the UK to help people affected by the East Africa drought.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) says the money will go towards emergency supplies of food and water. It'll also pay for things like vaccine programmes and latrine digging.

Tens of thousands of people have already died.
