George Baker dies aged 80

The actor George Baker has died.

The 80 year old had pneumonia following a recent stroke.

His career spanned six decades.

He was best known for his role as Chief Inspector Wexford in the Ruth Rendell Mysteries.

George received an MBE in 2007, for his fundraising activities for the local youth club in his home village of West Lavington, in Wiltshire.
