Philip Seymour Hoffman: A Tribute
We take a look back on the life and career of the late Oscar-winner, who sadly passed away at the weekend.
Hoffman was found dead in his New York apartment on the morning of Sunday 2 February. He was 46-years-old.
Tributes have come rolling in for a man widely considered to be one of the greatest actors of his era.
"I feel so fortunate to have known and worked with the extraordinary Philip Seymour Hoffman, and am deeply saddened by his passing," says Julianne Moore, who co-starred with Hoffman in 'Boogie Nights', 'Magnolia' and 'The Big Lebowski.

Hoffman first hit the big screen in Paul Thomas Anderson's 1997 movie 'Boogie Nights'.
His roles in films such as 'Magnolia', 'Almost Famous', 'Happiness' and 'Cold Mountain' cemented his status as one of the most talented actors of his generation.
Over the course of his career, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars three times.
He received the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2005 for his starring role in 'Capote'.
More recently, he has starred as Plutarch Heavensbee opposite Jennifer Lawrence in 'The Hunger Games' movie adaptations. Hoffman was seven days away from completing filming for the series' final instalment, 'The Mockingjay: Part 2'.
In a front-page obituary, The New York Times described Hoffman as "perhaps the most ambitious and widely admired American actor of his generation."
Philip Seymour Hoffman is survived by his long-standing partner Mimi O'Donnell and their two daughters and son.
