Richard Gere says Pretty Woman was 'silly'

The actor says it was his 'least favourite' film role.

Many view Pretty Woman, in which he starred as Edward Lewis opposite Julia Roberts' Vivian Ward, as Gere's finest hour.

The 1990 film has gone on to become one of the most successful romcom films of all time, with an estimated gross income of $463.4 million.

Nonetheless, 62-year-old Gere has told Australian magazine Woman's Day that he is no longer fond of the film.

'It's my least favourite thing,' explained the star. 'People ask me about that movie but I've forgotten it. That was a silly romantic comedy.'

Well, Richard, we still love it!
