The Simpsons gets green light

At least two more seasons of the sitcom will be made following a dispute with voice actors.

Rumours had been circling that the show was not sustainable as it had become too expensive to make.

Producers of the cartoon, which is in its 23rd year, reportedly asked the actors who provide voices for Homer, Marge and Bart Simpson to take a 45 percent pay cut.

It's understood that a compromise has been reached for the actors to take a 30% pay cut, with the producers warning last week the show could no longer be produced "under its current financial model".
