Tom Cruise has revealed that plans for a Top Gun sequel are gathering pace.
When the 49-year-old originally played Maverick in the original 1986 movie, he cemented his place as one of Hollywood's leading men, and 25 years later he has hinted that he'll reprise the role.
'Yeah we're working on a script, if we can figure it out,' admitted Tom at the premiere for Rock of Ages, 'we haven't figured it out yet.
'It would be fun getting into those jets,' beamed the star. 'I want to get in those gets!'
Paramount executive Adam Goodman recently suggested that a sequel to the film could come along sooner rather than later.
'We'll likely make a Top Gun sequel with Tom Cruise [before Mission Impossible 5]', he told The Hollywood Reporter.
'Jerry Bruckheimer would produce, with Tony Scott returning to direct... All parties are moving ahead.'
