Take That tour

Take That’s Progress Live 2011 tour became the biggest Tour in UK and Irish history when a record breaking 1.34 million tickets were snapped up in less than 24 hours.

The band smashed their previous box office record set in 2008 with The Circus Live Tour more than doubling their own record for sales in a single day.

And the biggest selling tour in UK history just got bigger as Take That add four new dates to their Progress Live tour which go on sale at 10am on Friday 10th December.

The extra dates are

Friday 27th May 2011        Sunderland       Stadium of Light                SOLD OUT
Saturday 28th May 2011    Sunderland       Stadium of Light                SOLD OUT
Sunday 12th June 2011     Manchester     Manchester City Stadium       SOLD OUT
Monday 4th July 2011        London            Wembley Stadium              SOLD OUT

In order to accommodate an extra date at Wembley, it has been necessary to reschedule the planned show on Sunday 3rd July for Thursday 30th June. The promoters apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but tickets remain valid for customers who have already bought them for Sunday 3rd July. Anyone who cannot make the rescheduled date is eligible for a full refund from their point of purchase.

The band commented “We are really sorry to have to move the dates in London but we’d heard that there was a lot of disappointment from those not being able get tickets and this was the only way that we could fit in another show. We hope everyone understands and look forward to seeing you all next year.”

The extra date added at London’s Wembley Stadium see’s Take That break another record by becoming the only act ever to play eight dates at the Stadium, a previous record held by Michael Jackson who played seven nights on his 1988 Bad World Tour.

The band commented “We are speechless, truly and utterly shocked. This is the most amazing news for all of us. To sell one million tickets in a day is mind blowing and we think we’ll be in shock for a few days! We want to thank everyone who has bought tickets today and look forward to seeing them next year.”

Progress Live 2011 will be the first time that Gary, Howard, Jason, Mark and Robbie have toured together in over 16 years
