The Saturdays Set For A Split As They Launch Solo Careers?
Are the group taking a break from releasing music together?
We have been dancing to their chart-topping hits for nearly eight years now, but it's reported the English five-piece girl group will be parting ways as three members focus on solo careers.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Una Foden, Mollie King and Vanessa White are all working on solo material whilst Rochelle Humes, 26, concentrates on her TV presenting and Frankie Bridge, 26, gets ready to birth her second child.
It's claimed the three ladies are looking to release their new music by the end of the year, and they are all recording very different sounds.
The Saturdays had better not split up! If they are then I am so done. I really don't want to live in a world which is run by dumb boybands.— Zoe (@StrawberryZoe) May 6, 2015
Awwww the @TheSaturdays split up :( but their music will live on in Soho cheesy pop rooms forever!— Alex Garlitos (@AlexGarlitos) May 6, 2015
Irish songwriter Una, 33, who has two children with rugby player hubby Ben Foden, is apparently the closest to signing a record deal and will be using her guitar playing skills to hone in on a country sound.
Mollie, 26, is said to be taking inspiration from Kylie Minogue and will going for an 80s disco pop vibe, whilst Vanessa, 25, wants to show off her vocal range with some R&B influences.
A source revealed: “Una, Mollie and Vanessa are all really excited and a bit nervous about releasing their solo material, but it’s been a long time in the pipeline."
“The girls are still a band, but they’re all happy to work on their own solo projects. It means there’s no animosity or frustration between them – it’s a set-up which works really well.”
The group - who are still signed to record label Polydor - haven't officially split just yet but the news will no doubt add more fuel the to breakup rumours circulating over the past year.
She's such a fan of this TV show the palace staff even tape it for her!
