The Channel 4 show sparked a fierce debate on Twitter about if a man or a woman should pay the bill at restaurants.
Parliamentary researcher, Cecilia, 23, and 26-year-old business developer Viv’s date ended awkwardly as they argued over who would foot the bill.
After going back and forth a number of times, Cecilia finally gave in reluctantly and let Viv pay. Meanwhile, fans were divided as to whether Viv should have just let her pay.
One fan tweeted: “Can’t believe this girl on first dates had a go at the guy for saying he’d pay for the bill... apparently chivalry is dead.”
Another added: “Cecelia must be the only woman who wants to pay her own bill! If someone’s wants to pay my bill, go for it!”

Man cannot win when it comes to bill etiquette! #FirstDates
But some were in favour of Cecelia arguing her case to foot the bill, with one fan writing: “What can you do when both want to pay the bill, fair play to her for wanting to pay”
