In a statement from the production company behind the show, they invited all those "crazy about croissants" and "passionate about pies" to apply before January 8th 2017.
The hunt for future contestants comes as a bit of a surprise as it was assumed that there would be at least one year's gap between the final show being aired on the BBC in 2016 and the first series to land on Channel 4.
The BBC unexpectedly lost the rights to the show after it refused to pay Love Productions the £25million they were asking for. instead, Channel 4 picked up the bid meaning that it will still be able to be watched by licence paying viewers, rather than a pay-for streaming service like Netflix.

The move meant that one of TV's greatest duos will be split up as Paul Hollywood follows the show to Channel 4, whilst Mary Berry will be hosting her own show on the BBC.
Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc have also announced that they will "not be following the dough".
However, the BBC aren't happy with Love Production's plans to air the next series as soon as summer of 2017 and are taking legal action against Channel 4, to prevent them airing the show so soon.
A spokesman for Love Productions said: "We can confirm that we are beginning preparations for the production of The Great British Bake Off Series 8.
"The precursor to every series is to find the next batch of wonderful bakers."
While the broadcaster hunts for contestants, they're also busy looking for new presenters who have yet to be announced. Watch this space...
