The Bournemouth Bay Run 2017

Bournemouth Bay Run 2016

Looking for a new challenge? Start the year right and join Heart at the Bournemouth Bay Run!!!

Bournemouth Bay Run will return to the coast with the most on Sunday, 2nd April 2017. Set along a seven-mile stretch of golden coastline and against the spectacular backdrop of the English Channel, the Bournemouth Bay Run is a fantastic challenge for new and experienced runners alike.

With support from media partners, Heart, the race aims to raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation in their fight against heart disease. Since 2010, Bournemouth Bay Run has raised more than £251,294 from sponsorship alone.

Having been awarded gold status for two years running by the British Association of Road Races (BARR), the race is once again set to attract runners and fun runners in their thousands. Last year saw over 4,500 runners taking part. Runners of all abilities are encouraged to take part, with four race distances on offer between Bournemouth and Southbourne. Challenge yourself whatever your ability with a half marathon, 10km, 5km or 1km family fun run. Those running in the 10k and Half Marathon will be chip timed, ensuring accurate timing for all participants.

To celebrate the 2017 being the 35th year of the Bournemouth Bay Run, this years theme will be the 1980s, with runners being invited to take part in dressing up in outfits from the 80s.
