A 75 year-old Gosport man's been locked up after admitting a string of sex offences against two children.
Police say they took place over a number of years.
Galliene, of Bury Hall Lane, pleaded guilty to 18 sexual offences against the victims over a number of years, including rape.
He was given 12 years at Portsmouth Crown Court.
Detective Constable Marie Duffy said:
"Edwin Gallienne took advantage of these young children for his own sexual gratification.
"I would like to thank the victims' for having the courage to come forward about these horrendous crimes and hope that today's sentence will help give them some closure, so that they can move on with her lives.
"It is because of the victims' courage that the offender now faces a long prison sentence; because of his age, he could possibly spend the rest of his life behind bars.
"This sentence serves as a reminder of the seriousness of these offences. We will always strive to bring offenders to justice; if you've been a victim or know someone who has, please contact us."
