Bike Some Noise for Solent

Ali Acaster is our local Bike Some Noise champion, riding to raise money for Global's Make Some Noise!

Before she gets on that bike, we wanted to give you the chance to meet your local champion.

Ali is from Broadstone and will be cycling on behalf of Julia's House - the Dorset Children's Hospice - where she is Director of Care and founder nurse.

Julia's House provide short, frequent respite and end of life care to children with life limiting and life threatening conditions and supportive care to their families across Dorset and South Wiltshire.

They give families a break before they reaching breaking point - many of our families face an exhausting 24-hour a day struggle to care for a very sick child. For them there is no break – and that is why Julia’s House exists, to support and care for these families.

They look after the WHOLE family: Our care isn’t just for the sick child, it’s for the whole family: mums, dads, brothers, sisters – even aunts, uncles and grandparents because having a life-limited child in your family touches everyone. They organise all sorts of social events - particularly breaks for brothers and sisters of the children they care for.

Make sure you are listening to Heart on Thursday October 9th to find out how Ali gets on, and donate to her Everyday Hero page at https://bikesomenoise.everydayhero.com/uk/ali-acaster
