12 Year Old Girl Robbed In Portsmouth

Police are investigating after a 12-year-old girl was grabbed and robbed in Southsea.

She was getting money from a cash point outside a Southern Co-operative store in St. James’s Road when she was approached by a man who grabbed her and demanded money.
 
£20 in cash and a bank card was stolen from the girl, who then ran away. She received a bruise and scratch. The man ran towards King Street after the robbery, which happened at around 8pm on Saturday 22 June.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man police wish to identify (above).
 
Investigating officer Detective Constable Pete Bambury said:
 
“This was an appalling robbery at a cash point on a 12-year-old girl in the early evening. If you recognise or know this man, please contact police.”
 
Anyone with information is asked to contact CID at Fratton Police Station by phoning 101. Information can be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
