A boy as young as two has been used to help a thief raid a house in the New Forest.

A 53-year-old woman was in her front garden in Church Street in Fordingbridge on Thursday 24 October 2013 when a woman with a young boy, aged two or three, engaged her in conversation for sometime.

It was only after the woman had gone the victim noticed her handbag had been stolen. It’s believed another person went in via an unlocked back door while the victim was being distracted and stole the bag.

A short while later an unsuccessful attempt was made to use a bank card from the bag in an ATM in Fordingbridge.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who recognises the woman or the man or child with her from the CCTV stills or the woman from the efit also being released today.

She is described as: Very white skinned with an eastern European accent, mid to late 20s, 5ft 4ins tall, slim build, a round face, young looking with a very pale translucent skin, pale eyes and very fair/white blond hair pulled or pushed lightly back.

Officers are asking anyone who thinks they recognise the woman or who has information about the crime to get in touch. They are asked to call Lyndhurst CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
