A man's been charged over a rogue batch of ecstasy on the Isle of Wight which left four men needing hospital treatment.
18-year-old Joseph Craig from Castle Road in Newport appeared in court this morning accusing of supplying MDMA.
Police think some of the tablets were sold at Yates's bar in Newport at the weekend.
A 17-year-old boy from East Cowes has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A. He remains in police custody. An 18-year-old man from Newport was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of ecstasy. He has been bailed until 31 August.
Another man was arrested and released with no further action.
Police continue to warn people not to take any tablets that they believe to be ecstasy; it must be stressed that taking these tablets could be life threatening.
Detectives working on the case are asking anyone who has any of these tablets to hand them into police, so that they can be analysed and disposed of correctly. Anyone handing them in, with the intention of preventing harm to others, will not be prosecuted for possession of illegal drugs.
