5 Year Old Girl Hit By Bus "Improving"

It's reported a five-year-old girl is who was hit by a bus near Southampton is improving in hospital.

She was taken to Southampton general Hospital with serious head injuries when she was struck by the single-decker vehicle on Knightwood Road in Chandlers Ford, at around 3.20pm on Novmber the 18th.

The youngster was riding a child’s scooter along the pavement with her mum when it happened. She has now left intensive care.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Police has told Heart:

"The child, from Chandlers Ford, appears to have fallen from the scooter onto the road into the path of a single-decked bus, which was travelling north-west along Knightwood Road.

""The bus driver, a 50-year-old man from Hedge End, was not injured."

Officers are appealing for anyone with any information to contact Acting Sergeant David Dyer, at Totton Roads Policing Unit, quoting Operation Tarlatan, on 101.
