70 Thousand Pounds Worth Of Motorbikes Stolen

Police in Southampton are appealing for information after more than £70,000 worth of Harley Davison motorbikes were stolen from a dealer in the city.

They were taken over last weekend between around 3pm on Saturday, April 10 and 7am on Monday, April 12 from Dockgate 20 Motorcycles in Second Avenue, Southampton.

The thieves got into a workshop by cropping bolts and breaking a window. They took four of the expensive bikes including a distinctive 9 foot long custom bike. Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has information about the crime.

Detective Constable, Mariette Ladd who is investigating said: “This must have been a pre-planned theft and taken some organising. I would be very keen to hear from anyone who has information about who is responsible or overheard anyone talking about it either before or after the incident.

“I’m also looking for witnesses who may have seen the bikes being taken or seen any people or vehicles in the area acting suspiciously. The bikes are quite distinctive and it’s likely anyone who saw anything will remember it.

“It’s likely a large van will have been used as the bikes were unlikely to have been ridden away and they would have taken some time to load.

“Those with information can contact me at Shirley CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
