£7000 Equipment Stolen From Ambulance
Police in Eastleigh are appealing for information after several thousand pounds worth of medical equipment was stolen from St John Ambulance station, Desborough Road, Eastleigh.
A padlock was forced open to a garage housing an ambulance sometime between 6pm on Tuesday, April 26 and 6.15pm on Tuesday, May 3.
Once inside the garage offender(s) smashed windows to gain entry to the vehicle.
Equipment with a total value in excess of £7000 was stolen from inside. The stolen items include a defibrillator, scoop stretcher and incident bags and their contents. A fire extinguisher was also sprayed inside the vehicle causing further damage.
PC Rob Thomas of Eastleigh police station said:
“We are appealing to anyone who may be able to identify those responsible for this callous act. A large amount of expensive medical equipment has been stolen which will have a significant impact on the service the voluntary organisation can provide.”
