A31 Closure Following Fatal Crash Near Ringwood

A 22-year-old man from Ringwood has died following collision involving a car and a coach in the early hours of this morning along the A31.
The road was closed for hours as officers carried out their investigations at the scene to establish exactly what happened.
They are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or who saw either vehicle prior to the collision to come forward as you may have vital information.

Highways England put a diversion in place.
Hampshire Police released a statement
In order to divert all vehicles safely, including HGVs, the westbound closure starts at junction 2 of the M27 and ends at the A31 in Ringwood.
The diversion will take motorists off at junction 2 of the M27, along the A36 towards Salisbury and then onto the A338 to get back on the A31 at Ringwood.
We understand that this is a large closure and will cause disruption but we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
