Attempted Murder Charge After Car Hits Man

Detectives have charged a man with attempted murder, after a car went up a kerb, hitting a pedestrian.

21-year-old Gursamraj Khaira of the Polygon Southampton appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on Saturday, October the 1st, where he was remanded to appear at Winchester Crown Court on November 25th.

It's after an Audi A3 mounted the pavement in St Mary's Street on the evening of Wednesday, September 28th.  It collided with a 39-year-old man who suffered serious injuries.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The vehicle left the scene.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder was questioned and bailed until December.

A 27-year-old man arrested was released without charge.
