Bikes Stolen At MotoX Grand Prix

Police are appealing for information after six motorcycles were stolen during three separate incidents at the British MotoX Grand Prix at the Matterley Bowl, Winchester.

The first two incidents took place overnight between Thursday, August 16 and Friday, August 17.

Two bikes, belonging to a 49-year-old man from Holland, were stolen from a secure vehicle. Another bike, described as an orange KTM trials bike valued at £5,000, which belonged to a 14-year-old boy from the Canary Islands, was stolen from outside his caravan.

The third incident took place overnight between Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18 when three black, white and red Husqvarna off road motorcycles were stolen from a temporary display stand.

The three bikes have a total value of £20,800.

Sergeant Stu Gilmour, said: "I am appealing for anyone with any information about these incidents to come forward and speak to us.

"Did you see or hear anything suspicous that could be linked to the incidents? Do you know anyone who has recently acquired a trials or MotoX bike, of have you been offered one for sale.

"The Husqvarna bikes were 2013 models and were the first of their type in the country.

"They will be appearing in dealerships in the near future. They are therefore very rare at this time and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen these bikes, to contact us as soon as possible."
