Bookies Targetted In An Armed Robbery

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Portsmouth.

At around 9.25pm on Saturday, June 12 an armed robbery took place at Ladbrokes Betting Shop, Albert Road.  The offender entered Ladbrokes and crossed the shop to the till area. He then threatened two members of staff with a gun, and demanded money.
 
The staff handed over a quantity of the cash.  The man then left the area with the cash and turned right in the direction of the King Theatre.  Officers suspect that he travelled via Harold Road.
 
Detective Constable Mel Sinclair, said: “I an appealing to anyone with any information about this incident to come forward.  Did you notice anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident?  I would urge anyone with any information to contact us as a matter of urgency and help us find the man responsible.”
