Pedestrian In Collision With A BMW On The Avenue On Friday Night
Boy Seriously Injured In Gosport Hit And Run
An 8-year-old boy's been badly injured in a hit and run in Gosport.
He was knocked down by a car on Eastbourne Avenue at around 5.30pm yesterday evening (Tuesday 25 November). The driver didn't stop.
The boy's injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.
Inspector Phil Hunt, from Fratton Roads Policing Unit, said:
"The collision happened in Eastbourne Avenue near the junction with Worthing Avenue.
"The child has sustained serious injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
"Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision but would particularly like to speak to the driver of the car involved, which is believed to have travelled on towards Brockhurst Road following the collision."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
Officers say many of those were after people didn't secure their car properly.
James Hemming pleaded guilty to wounding with intent after a 17-year-old girl was badly injured in Fratton.
Dorset and Hampshire officers will be carrying out extra patrols until New Year's Day.
