Cannabis Worth £450k Seized In Portsmouth

The UK Border Agency's revealed details of a massive cannabis seizure at Portsmouth ferryport.

Drugs believed to be cannabis resin (class B) were found in an articulated lorry after it disembarked a ferry which had arrived in Portsmouth from Caen at 22:40 on 4 September 2011.

The drugs have an estimated wholesale value of £150,000 and estimated street value of £450,000.

A 63-year-old British man from North Yorkshire was arrested shortly after the seizure was made and has been bailed until 5 January 2012.

A UK Border Agency spokesman said:
