Car Rammed Into Southampton Shop

Police are appealing for information after two offenders forced entry to a shop in East Street, Southampton, in the early hours of Tuesday January 10.

At around 12.10am, officers were called after a member of the public heard a crash and saw that a car had been driven into the front of H&T Pawnbrokers, damaging the shutters and breaking the windows behind them.

The alarm sounded immediately and two people were seen running away. It is thought the pair also used a motorcycle to get away from the area.

Nothing was taken from the shop.

Officers are now carrying out a number of enquiries and are appealing for witnesses.

DC Jonny Hyland said, “We’d like to speak to anyone with any information about this incident, but particularly those who may have seen it happen or seen two people leaving the area in a rush just after midnight.”

Anyone with any information should contact police at Shirley police station on 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
