Massive Fireworks Display To Round Off Cowes Week
Tens of thousands of people will be watching the massive fireworks display which rounds off Cowes Week.
Romsey-based Pains Fireworks have created this year's display, at a cost of thousands.
It'll be started off at 9.30pm on Friday 9 August by all the yachts and boats in the harbour blasting their foghorns.
Before that there'll be a Red Arrows display at 7.30pm.
More than 800 boats have been competing on the Solent over the 8 days. Among the famous yachting names in action were Gosport's Alex Thompson, Shirley Robertson and Olympian Helena Lucas.
Princess Anne was among the visitors during the week.
Policing plans were in place to keep crime levels low with officers on the Isle of Wight working closely with regatta organisers, security staff and fellow emergency services, to ensure that the event was safe, both on water and land.
