Dinosaur Has Ferry Trip

An unusual “passenger” has been welcomed aboard Commodore Clipper in Portsmouth on its way to Jersey in the Channel Islands.

The passenger in question was a life-size model of a Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaur which is being transported to the Island by Condor Ferries in support of Lloyd Scott’s marathon around Jersey to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Mark Pether, Condor Ferries’ Portsmouth manager said:

“Condor Ferries provides a year-round lifeline service between Portsmouth and the Channel Islands and so we are used to transporting everything from Christmas trees to vital medical supplies, however Lloyd Scott’s fifteen foot dinosaur standing in his custom built trailer was certainly novel.”

The T-Rex model which will travel back through the port later this week was specially made for Lloyd. He stands over 13 feet high at the hips, is nearly 30 feet long and took three months to build.
