Duchess Of Cambridge Visits Hampshire Children's Hospice
The Duchess of Cambridge has spent her second wedding anniversary with a visit to a Hampshire children's hospice.
The Duchess of Cambridge was praised for providing a "real boost'' to the staff and volunteers of a hospice she visited today (April 29th) on her second wedding anniversary.
Kate travelled to Naomi House in Hampshire, an institution that supports youngsters with life-limiting conditions, to celebrate Children's Hospice Week.
The Duke and Duchess married two years ago today at Westminster Abbey during a glittering ceremony watched by millions.
Traditionally couples exchange cotton presents to mark their second wedding anniversary but the Cambridges are spending their special day apart as the Duke, an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot, is on duty at his North Wales military base.
The Duchess has already marked Children's Hospice Week by recording her first video message, released yesterday, which appealed for support for the initiative aimed at raising awareness and funds.
The week, which runs until Friday, is run by UK children's palliative care charity Together for Short Lives.
Professor Khalid Aziz, chairman of Naomi House, which was opened by the Prince of Wales in 1997, said:
"We are delighted that Her Royal Highness has chosen Naomi House to visit at the start of Children's Hospice Week.
"Her presence has provided a real boost for our families, our volunteers and all our dedicated staff who were thrilled to meet her.''
Kate, who wore a Tara Jarmon coat and dressmaker dress, visited the hospice privately in 2008.
