E-Fit Released In Hunt For Burglar

E-fit of burglar released after series of break-ins at student homes in Southampton.

There have been four burglaries officially linked – all took place in the Polygon area of the city and in each case the homes were occupied by women students.

The intruder would get in through an insecure window or back door on the ground floor. He would often find himself in a student bedroom and would be disturbed by the occupant. He would then run off and in each case nothing was taken.

He was seen well by one of the students who describes him as aged in his 30s, over 6ft tall and wearing a black leather jacket and jeans. He had quite dark short shaven hair and an oval face. He had a small goatee beard and stubble.  He also distinctively had 4 or 5 silver stud earrings in his right ear.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who knows who the man might be or has any information about the crimes to contact them.

They should call Detective Constable Tim Judd on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Students and all residents are reminded of the importance of making sure their homes is secure – especially at night and locking all doors and accessible windows.
