EFIT Released Of Male Rape Suspect
Detectives from Hampshire Constabulary's Major Crime Department are today releasing an efit of the man thought to have raped a 22-year-old man in Southampton.
The victim told officers he was walking along a path near the Clover Nook flats off Old Redbridge Road sometime between 5.10 and 5.20am on Saturday, October 1, when he was approached by another man he did not know who then raped him before running into the flats.
Acting Detective Inspector David Nealon of Hampshire Constabulary's Major Crime Department who is leading the enquiry said:
"I'm hoping someone may recognise the man in the efit we have now composed with the victim. He says it's an extremely good likeness to the person who attacked him.
"We also have more detail about a tattoo on his arm which we are releasing. I would ask anyone who thinks they know who the man is to get in touch with my team as soon as possible."
The attacker is described as: White male, late 20s, around 5ft 9 inches tall, very muscular big build, Short cropped haircut with longer grade on top and shaved at the sides, dark brown hair, thin lips, a narrow mouth, a very distinctive boned jaw line with high cheekbones, dark stubble with sideburns.
He was wearing a plain white, t-shirt with a high 'v' neck, regular fit blue jeans and white trainers.
The man has a distinctive tattoo on his right arm. It extended from underneath the sleeve on his t-shirt to his wrist. It's described as a thick curved tribal tattoo with curvy spikes linked together with hardly any skin showing. It's said to be either dark blue or green in colour.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the Operation Stopford team at Major Crime at Hulse Road on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
