Escaped Prisoner Hands Himself In
A man who absconded from a prison in Kent has handed himself into police in Dorset.
38-year-old Jamie Frater, a detainee at Blantyre House Open Prison in Goudhurst, Kent failed to return following work in the community on Monday 18th June.
He was jailed for life in the early 1990s for killing 45-year-old teacher Geoffrey du Rose.
He handed himself in to Poole police station at 11:30pm on June the 21st following contact with his family and is expected to be transferred back to Kent and returned to prison later today.
Frater has links to the Dorset and Hampshire areas and Kent Police worked with these forces in the search for him.
Chief Inspector Adrian Futers at Kent Police said:
"I would like to thank the media for their assistance in publicising this appeal. Frater was arrested without incident and we will continue to work with Dorset Police to ensure he is safely returned to prison."
26-year-old mum of two Natasha Wake was stabbed to death at a house in Harley Gardens in Boscombe.
Hundreds waved off the Royal Navy aircraft carrier on its final journey from the city, to a Turkish scrapyard.
