Fatal Crash Just Off Junction 4 of M3

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A331 just off Junction 4 of the M3 this morning.

The incident happened shortly before 5.30am and involved an articulated lorry and a motorcycle heading towards Farnham.
 
The motorcyclist received fatal injuries and he was pronounced dead on arrival at Frimley Park Hospital.
 
The driver of the lorry, a 52-year-old man from Camberley was shaken but uninjured. He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in custody.
 
The southbound slip road at junction 4 of the M3 remains closed at this time to allow officers to examine the scene. These closures are likely to remain in place until 10am.
 
Motorists travelling southbound are advised to seek alternative routes leaving the motorway at either junction 3 or junction 4a. 
 
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact Sergeant Andy Lynch at the Road Death Investigation Team at Eastleigh on 101, quoting Operation Calendula.
