The incident involved a three story industrial unit measuring 46 meters by 25 meters of traditional construction consisting of brick under corrugated roof construction.  The fire was extinguished using, eight breathing apparatus, four jets and one hose reel.

Station Manager Micky Smither said:  "Upon arrival we could see flames from the car inside the building. Firefighters gained access to the premises to extinguish the fire and crews ventilated the premises.

He continued: "Crews used the thermal imaging camera to check for further pockets of fire and the spread of smoke.

"Firefighters worked extremely hard to contain the fire to the unit of origin and did a sterling job in stopping the fire from spreading to the neighbouring units.  Due to their efforts there should be no adverse impact to the rest of the industrial estate."

A fire investigation is being carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
