22 June 2011, 15:21

Police have released an e-fit of a suspect after firework 'bangers' were thrown at the owner of a house in Wheatlands, Titchfield Common on Friday, June 17.

Between 4pm and 4.20pm, the homeowner, a 52-year-old woman, saw someone at her front door and opened it. There were three males at the door, all aged in their late teens to early twenties, who threw lit bangers at her, one of which struck her leg. This did not result in injury.

The suspects then fled the scene.

The main suspect who is in the e-fit is described as:

- White
- 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall
- Slim to skinny build
- Shaggy dark brown hair
- Bushy eyebrows
- Thin pointed nose
- Wearing a white short sleeved t-shirt with a logo or writing on the front, and blue jeans.

PC Lisa Edmundson said: "It appears these individuals were trying to post the fireworks through the letterbox and were interrupted.

"This is a very serious incident that could have resulted in significant injury, and we are very keen to hear from anyone that recognises the individual in the e-fit."

Anyone with information should contact Fareham police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
