Group Attacked in Portsmouth

Police are appealing for information after a group of four men and one woman were attacked in Portsmouth.

At some time between 2am and 2.30am on Saturday, March 6 a group of 5 friends, aged in their early 20s, were walking along Fratton Road, at the junction with Cornwall Road.

The group were then approached by two men who asked them for cigarettes and attempted to engage the group in a conversation. The group declined and walked on.

The group were then attached from behind and all the men in the group received minor injuries.

The men police want to speak to are described as aged 22 to 23 and around 5ft 8ins. One was wearing a black hooded top with white stripes and the other was wearing a blue top.

Detective Sergeant, Richard Wheeler, said: “This was an isolated and unprovoked attacked and I would ask anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward and help us locate the offender".
