One of Cambridgeshire's oddest traditions gets under way this morning...
Hampshire Train Services Disrupted
Services in Hampshire were disrupted after a man was hit by a train in London at the start of the morning rush-hour.
British Transport Police said officers were called to Clapham Junction station in south London, adding that the incident was being treated as non-suspicious.
"Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended but the man, believed to be 76 years old and from Wandsworth, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner," said a spokesman.
A number of services were cancelled or disrupted as a result of the incident, affecting trains into London Waterloo from Surrey and Hampshire.
As of 13.28 on Wednesday 4th May, a South West Trains spokesperson said:
"Essential services between Wimbledon and Waterloo are running normally again and all trains should be running on time now. They're could still be some minor delays in places like Hampshire as a knock on effort from the incident in London earlier, but this shouldn't last."
The first rail freight service from the UK to China has arrived.
A tracker device led to it being recovered in Totton - a man's been questioned.
Special constables will be trained in CPR, using oxygen and defibrillators so they can be first responders if they're closest.
