Police in Portsmouth have released an e-fit of a man wanted in connection with a robbery that took place in Frattonback back in December.

At around 4.45pm on the 5th, a 15-year-old was walking up from Somers Road to the park area between Bridgeside Close and Holbrook Road.

As the victim neared the basketball courts, two men came up to him, spoke to him and told him to hand over his rings.

The victim reports one of the men was holding a serrated knife, described as having a black rubber handle.

They forced the teenager to hand over his mobile phone and told him to leave. It is believed the offenders walked off towards Bridgeside Close.

They are described as:

-mixed race, aged 17-18, London accent, chubby build, short dark, flat hair, wearing a grey tracksuit

-white, aged 17-18, wearing a black hooded top with the hood up and black trousers

One of the rings stolen was a gold sovereign coin-ring, the other was a black onyx jewel with a panther logo engraved on it.

DC Chris Dinenage from Portsmouth CID said:

“This was clearly a terrifying ordeal for the young lad and we’re keen to trace the offenders.

“We don’t tolerate this sort of intimidation and we’re currently following up a number of lines of enquiries including putting together an e-fit of the offenders.

“In the meantime, I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the park next at the time and saw what happened, anyone who recognises the description of the offenders or the knife or knows who they are.

“The rings stolen are very identifiable so if you see items matching this description, or have any information where they may be, please contact police.

“It would have been getting dark around the time this happened so if you’re out walking, remember to stick to well-lit areas and keep valuables out of sight.”
