Hedge End Store Burglary

Detectives are investigating a high value commercial break-in at the Best Buys electrical store in Charles Watts Way, Hedge End.

Raiders entered the premises sometime between 3 and 3.45 am on Wednesday, August 31.  They placed a ladder outside the front doors before smashing a window above the doors to gain entry. A second ladder was also used and placed inside the store in front of the entrance doors.

Once inside, glass cabinets were smashed and large quantities of electrical goods with an estimated value in excess of £100,000, including ASUS Laptops, LG3D PC Tablets, digital cameras and PS3 games consoles were stolen.

The intruders then made their escape through fire doors at the side of the building, speeding off in a blue hatchback car, possibly a MK 5 Ford Escort.

Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses who were in the area at the time who saw the offenders outside the store or the car speeding off afterwards; or from anyone with information about the stolen property or its whereabouts, to contact them.

Information should be given by phoning Eastleigh CID on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111.
