Inquiry Continues Over 22-Year-Old's Death

Hampshire police are still investigating the death of a 22-year-old who was hit by a car in Portsmouth.

Matthew Bailey received fatal injuries following a collision on Park Road, Portsmouth on November 21. The crash happened at 2.17am as he crossed the road.

He was hit by a Mini being driven by a woman, which was just behind a Ford Focus which had narrowly missed him moments before. Both cars were travelling from the direction of Gunwharf Quays at the time of the crash.

Matthew was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, where he was pronounced dead.

A 24-year-old Whiteley woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She has been bailed until March 1, 2011.
