Man Arrested After Child Hurt In Hit-And-Run

A man has been arrested after a four-year-old girl was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run in Southampton.

Police and paramedics were called to Denzil Avenue on Thursday night.

The girl suffered a broken leg and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The silver Ford Focus was later found in Fanshaw Street and police have now arrested a 45-year-old man.

He's being held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop and failing to report a collision.
