Man Assaulted in Portsmouth

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Portsmouth.

At around 2am on Friday, May 21 the 20-year-old victim was on Ashling Lane, Portsmouth when he was approached by four men who assaulted him.

The victim sustained a broken jaw, which required three metal plates and wiring. The offenders are described as black, stocky build and wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Sarah Lortal, said: "This was an unprovoked attack which occurred in the early hours of the morning. The victim sustained serious injuries and I would ask anyone with any information to come forward and help us find those responsible."
