A teenager's needed hospital treatment after being attacked with a weapon in a Gosport car park.
The 19-year-old was injured in Parry Court on Parham Road on Wednesday night (28 August). Police were called to the scene at 8.19pm.
The victim received treatment in hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said:
"We are appealing for witnesses after a report of an assault on a 19-year-old man in the car park area of Parry Court, Parham Road, Gosport.
"The scene was sealed off to preserve any evidence. Cordons were lifted today (Thursday 29 August) after a forensic examination of the scene.
"It's believed a weapon was used in the assault, but its identity has yet to be established.
"Enquiries are ongoing to confirm the full circumstances, and identify whoever was responsible for the assault.
"There is no information and no evidence at this time to suggest a wider risk to the community.
"We are appealing for a specific possible witness to come forward.
"This witness is a young man, wearing a blue T-shirt, who was seen walking and talking with the victim shortly after the assault. He was also seen wheeling a bike. He is not a suspect, but may have important information about the events leading up to this crime."
