Man Charged Over Gosport Fire

Police investigating an arson at a property in Bramber Road, Elson, Gosport on Tuesday morning have now charged a 39-year-old man in connection with the incident.

Emergency services were called to the address at 5am, following reports that a fire had started in the house.

A 36–year old man, a 27-year-old woman and four children between the ages of three and 11 were in the house at the time. They managed to evacuate without sustaining injuries, other than the man who sustained a broken ankle.

The fire service attended and the fire was put out.

Local man David Regan, of no fixed address, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life.

He is currently in custody and is due to appear before magistrates later.
