Man Charged Over Hampshire Knife Attack

Detectives in Fareham have charged a man with attempted murder after a 41-year-old man was stabbed in a flat in the High Street at Lee-on-Solent.

Police were called to the incident in the early hours of Satuday (5th February) and three men were arrested – two as they left the scene in a taxi.

A 29 year old, of no fixed address has now been charged with trying to kill the victim. He’ll appear before Portsmouth Magistrates Court today (Monday, February 7th).

The 41-year-old victim has undergone surgery at the QA Hospital in Portsmouth and is making a good recovery.

The other men, aged 27 and 29, arrested at the time have now been released on police bail while enquiries continue until May 4.

Officers still want to hear from anyone with any information about the incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area between midnight and 2am on Saturday, February 5th.
